How come the media never talks and Ichiro ESPN more?
I remember his rookie season was advertised (I have to admit) but at the height of the main expectations of M to 116 wins, the MVP, Rookie of the Year, Golden Glove, etc, but in the last 3 or 4 years he does not give credit on Sportscenter or any other spectator sport. He is constantly accumulated over 200 + hits, .300 + BA, and gloves of gold every year in the majors … this guy is a machine. In my opinion he is the most underrated player in baseball today No, not even joking. Be Seattle is a small media market, but Grady Sizemore plays in the same small market in Cleveland, and people do look like a Greek god. Ichiro needs to be recognized more by the media.
50% of the reason is because he plays with the Mariners that we are not winning, but even Tony Gwynn has a lot of media attention and endorsements despite finishing his career with the Padres mean. The other 50% is due to ESPN / media focuses mainly on teams on the east coast and west coast teams that are winning, and players that are negotiable common fan: I think the main reasons few Fans can / do not refer to Ichiro is because they are not used to his unorthodox style and I think it's boring, and racism.
