They are the "factory-trained technicians" just a marketing ploy by the dealers?
I took my car to Sears Auto Center so that the tires replaced and my mechanic realized using a Ford Genuine Parts and Service "shirt. I asked him if he works for Ford. He said yes, and that Sears was his second job. Out of curiosity, I asked him if he is regularly trained by Ford. He said "not really" and only reported if there is a recall. He said that once you are an ASE certified mechanic, Ford contract and that has nothing to do factory training, except factory-trained mechanics are better than your average mechanic. As for the ASE certification does help a technician knows what he knows and how much more information. Good luck and God bless
