Recently my old laptop needs replacing, which was over 3 years and had a battery life of 10 minutes of charging and the charger needs to be replaced. A quick visit eBay and for less than $ 500 Australian a new Toshiba laptop was delivered.

About the same time I visited a friend who had spent more than $ 1,500 Australians in a laptop of a large electrical retailer. My friend uses mainly the laptop to check messages e-mail and create documents simple words, I was thinking maybe a $ 1,500 laptop was extravagant for your needs.

As a designer websites and article writer I feel that my $ 500 laptop complete my work with ease.

Most visitors to my site Make blog are beginning their journey of learning, my blog covers information on the content, domain names, web hosting and SEO. I thought why not hardware and software should be covered for, after all, is what is used to navigate, write and present our work.

As you can see I do not think that bigger is better, the $ 500 laptop has Windows Vista operating system, 2GB of RAM, 160 GB hard drive and CPU is a 2.2GHz Celeron. The tasks this notebook has to make are, of course, web browsing, simple image editing (cropping, resizing and compression for the web), the text editing and when I just want to be loose, my favorite game.

Now you know what hardware I use for my web design, now run through my list essential software;

  • Web browsers – IE8, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Safari. Thus we see that the views can page through a variety of platforms.
  • Gimp – image editing for me.
  • Dreamweaver MX 2004 – Used mainly in edit mode text, and I like the site administrator.
  • Xampp – Xampp creates a server on my PC so you can create a whole page of work that can be tested before upload
  • FireFTP – A Firefox plugin to transfer files.
  • And the last one is the most used software notebook Windows – I am using it now As I am writing this article. Ezinearticles my blog and have a feature where I can copy and paste text into the post as "new."

These are my choices for hardware and software, some of you like using a desktop machine and you prefer a graphical interface to create your pages. I would like know, and I suppose some readers of my blog would be interested in what you use.

Please take time to visit my site http://www.makingwebsitesblog.com/?p=197 make a comment, and share with us your hardware and software that you use to make your websites.
