Is this e-book market Blasphemy?
"I can ask you a question?
When was the last time I went on Amazon, Barnes and Noble or your local bookstore to buy a book?
He recently?
When you're surfing around reading manga book, had a assistant implementation depends on you and say: "Quick! There are only two left! Buy it before you leave"?
And the last Once I bought a book?
Did you hand over the book and the money only to discover that he had thrown 18 books, a CD collection a lot of chips books, author's telephone number and ticket coupons to Starbucks in the bag?
Right?
I wonder What is that?
I'm going out to a member here and say that is because the libraries in general, the value of the work of the author of each individual and are based on the fact that people are buying, for example, a novel by Stephen King, because it really like his work, the value of their craft really want your book.
Nothing more and nothing less.
It's funny then, that in the online edition of the world, we tend to do exactly the opposite.
We tell people "There are only four left!" and that "the price will go up at midnight … I can not guarantee the price!" or "Because we demand so high discontinue the book, but when they bring back will be twice as "expensive.
Worse, we sell the same book and then make a stack of bonuses as large that it would take two months 8 days solid hour to get through them .. even if they wanted!
(I recently looked at a product that had 103 'bonus' attached to it!)
Sorry, but this is just crazy!
I mean, seriously, what it does tell your perspective about you and your product?
1. This book is not good enough to be sold as separate product.
If it were, it would be. It's that simple.
Borders does not give you 10 books as bonuses for the simple reason that every book on the shelves should be enough to be there under its own merits and, this being the case, you should pay a fair price for it.
No pass, no buts.
2. That you're not so sure materials should be.
If you then I do not want bribes and other things that, in many cases, it is not compatible with the primary supply.
And hey, if you're unsure, then why should it be?
3. I do not care whether or not I have read your book.
If you really wanted me to read YOUR book and take what you're saying seriously, why on Earth you want to distract me with 10 or more works of others
Seriously, on this day and age that people are short on time.
They want to be told what to do, how and why little faster, more succinctly possible.
They do not want to read through the War and Peace 10 times over from different people to find out what to do to get better abs or to download weight.
In fact, get that kind of confusion for free on Google, why would you pay to add more?
4. You want your money … WRONG!
What other message do you think people is when you say "You can have this and this and this and … oh yeah, and do not forget this! '?
They are getting the message that you are dealing with sales, nothing more and nothing less, and could be bribed to keep up they say "yes."
Now, the thing is that this has worked on the Internet and so far last, but it?
Can it last?
Will all of us are playing the "He with the biggest bonuses infinitum wins' ad game?
Will we see 500 gift packages premium in the not too distant future?
Who knows, I hope not!
"But the boys Dax, many of the" large "have made enormous wealth in this way … I want some of that "
Very true, over the years has been a great little money made from this approach, but I do not think that will last. I sincerely hope not!
You see, every one of these "super packages" only reinforces the world at large that we are not "real" the authors.
They believe that we are "only" the authors of the e-book and we are deserving of lesser status.
And to be honest, most of the time right!
Yes, I know a lot of that comes from the market as a blasphemy, but it is what I believe.
You You may even think it's a bit rich coming from someone who has e-books of their own but if you check out you will see my own products that do not offer bonuses, no bribes and no slick sales techniques.
I simply offer what I'm selling a (hopefully) engaging manner and the confidence they want to buy my books and those who do not will not.
Yes, there are those who do now, sales much older than me and yes, they use the bonus method to do this but I'm sure some may be that the days are coming to an end.
Anyway, the issue is not just 'How many sales I can do? " but what difference am I doing when someone reads my book? '
If you are stealing precious time by loading them down with 15 books instead of just one good, then you are actually doing them a service?
Are you really make a difference?
