I graduate later this year Interior Design degree, but how I can get into the Printing Industry?
I am a graduate Interior Design diploma at the end of this year and am currently writing a thesis interior design as it uses graphic abilities. My passion is in graphic design and advertising and would like to continue my career after graduating in the industry without having to go back to college and study graphic. I would say professionally my photoshop skills are intermediate. However, I am very talented and skilled with my photoshop and photo manipulation. my fear is that they have skills in ii Illustrator vector drawings or making flash website. My only experience of working in the graphics is a graphic designer intern at a Marketing and Advertising and Promotions department at a fashion company. I got three tasks using my photoshop skills (design solutions for a cd album cover, produced ang prisoner war and the advertising of a Fashion Outlet). What is my future and there is a possibility of me being accepted as an entry level graphic design?
be a graphic designer is not about how good you are in Photoshop or Illustrator. It goes much deeper than him. It is about ideas and communication with the membership, the use of color and good knowledge of typography. (Like the interior design is not just about the furniture grouped close together and painting a wall a little color) Typography is vital and the hardest thing for most designers understood. Read some graphic design books that deal with the membership, network and typography. There are plenty of books out there. Get some that actually teaches something, reading is not enough to see the photos.
