How I can opt out of book clubs and stop receiving books / invoices from them?
Only been a week since I began receiving books book clubs next …:> Literary Guild Select Club> Quality Paperback Book Club> Book of the Month "club and I do not know how to stop them … I did I recall application / order these books I've received. And I have to pay for these books … I searched the internet and found many complaints about these reading clubs … and have yet to find a solution to my problem … I open only one of my packages to see the content … and I realized that there is no phone number / address email / etc. So there is no way to communicate with them. I have been advised to send them back unopened. But I know that probably will not prevent sending books to me and I will have to continue paying the shipping … Someone please help. > _ <I may have been doing some marketing (surveys) I probably got into this mess …
Postal stipulate that you do not have to pay for items sent to you via email you have not ordered. However, if you have joined a book club – that is, responded to an advertisement, commercial, direct mail – and agreed to become a member and have a minimum number of books that offers a premium ("Take any 3 books for $ 1.00!), then entered into a contract and are bound their part of the contract. You may cancel by returning any premiums received for joining the book club. You are receiving the books you has not ordered because book clubs operate in a marketing device called "opting out of inertia and the reader." Book club members sent selection notice book club – books that have been elected by the club as the club's current offer. These warnings prior masquerading as book reviews but in reality are promotions. As the book club member, you are given the option of refusing the book – usually by returning a form enclosed with the advance … or do nothing and have the book sent automatically. This is the negative option. Book clubs survive because readers are lazy – this is the inertia readers – and do not return the form rejection. Now … when joining the club of books, the deal was going to buy a minimum number of books offered by the club. Readers who remember the words of their agreement will often allow several books which were sent automatically in order to fulfill its obligation. So … forget that they do not have to buy more books and actually could give the club without any penalty. The book club continues to send these advance notices and then books and readers, which has now fallen into the habit of regularly receiving these books, pay bills automatically accompanying book. This has sometimes gone on for many years. (Book of the Month Club is 81 years old.) Send a letter to the Club to abandon the club and see what happens. You can get a stern note saying that there is a "quid pro quo "It took premiums agreed to buy a minimum number of books and will face a number of purchases. Or you may receive a letter saying the return premiums and an end to itself. Idea: in every communication with the Book Club, "cc" Postal Inspector. That is to send a copy of his letter to the inspector local post, noting that he did in the bottom of his letter to the book club. That might draw your attention!
