Solution out of control oil prices?
Rep John Larson of CT. Proposed last night we have the direct purchase of government oil and to prevent speculation and return the system to supply and demand. Will it work? A couple other items of interest were using the federal oil reserve for 50-100 days and not buy any oil to punish the speculators and the stock would be reduced, but only for a short time. Undo did Bush deregulation the investment market place.
It's nice to hear that people are trying to get to the solution of oil prices but this seems ridiculous a short-term solution to a problem long term. I would worry about how this could result in the long term. I think we all know that in time our own government is likely to screw us worse than any country in OPEC, the oil company or gas station owner ever could. It's sad but true that our government is just as disrespectful as the countries and companies that profit from our dependence on oil. My recommendation would be to develop a fuel alternative work in the car until everyone could afford to buy an alternative fuel vehicle or a car that does not depend on oil at all. It is evident that our governement with the oil companies and automakers have been a block of years on the alternatives, because revenues oil creates for them. I think we all know that the incentive and the profitability of alternative fuels is clearly at a point where it is increasingly difficult for automakers to turn a blind eye. I guess the real question is when people stop disputes about party politics and realize that the American people are raped, our money has become useless, and all of our government, both Republicans and Democrats are just as effective as lobbyists for special interests (in this case the oil company) allow them to be. Our ancestors would be ashamed of what we have become.
