I invite you to use these seven tips that you are preparing for that next promotion.

1. Self-Assessment. We must prepare like they do for a job or career change outside. First, assess where you are now and compare it to where you really want to be in your career. You search in personality assessments to help you identify strengths, special talents and abilities, and things are most important in your environment dream job.

2. Get votes. This is a bit more difficult, but worthwhile. As for what other people think you at work. What is known? What did your last performance evaluations say 2-3? Consider investing in a survey of 360 comments in which they are able to request anonymous comments from their peers, direct reports, and management.

3. Identify a path. Using the results of # 1 and 2, at least three career paths to determine where you are interested in pursuing. Are they within your company Current or abroad? Identify a path to pursue at this time and develop a comprehensive strategy for how to get there.

4. Create mark your package. Working for developing its own toolkit mark. Branding is important because it sets the tone for how people perceive you and remember you. Your toolbox that includes such things as your most recent CV, your personal mission statement, a "card", a biography 3 minutes, and more. It can be quite creative with this idea.

5. Identify your support network. Think you want in your circle of influence. Some people will be in your corner, supporting their efforts to advance your career. Find them – a mentor, a relative, a colleague who has already reached a higher level. Determine what support and resources of the system should look like for you to reach your career goal.

6. Put Your knowledge. Identify at least three books I read in the next 30 days that will be brought up later in their career search. For example, if you are conducting a marketing manager position, you can read something like "The indicators of Marketing: 50 + Metrics Every Executive Master case, Paul Farris. Know what you know the next level, adjust their knowledge so that you can talk strategically in your next interview.

7. Provide Solutions. Come with an idea for a project that will find a solution to a problem that his company is trying to solve. Get the idea against the right people and volunteers to lead it.

Now go get ready to take your career to the next level!
