Do people just follow your heart when you choose your major?
I know people who specialize in humanities courses as sociology, psychology, fine arts, and linguistics. As we know, for the commanders of those, does not guarantee employment after graduation because the labor market is not very large. Majors such as engineering, medicine, science is sure to give ua job after graduation compared to older liberal arts. I understand people who want to specialize in something they like but I wonder if they consider other aspects, and when they choose a specialty. Are people consider job prospects / reputation / salary when they choose their specialization or just follow your heart?
There are different types of people: (1) follow many interests and disregard for the career prospects of their elders. (2) many to go after what the market wants, for example. business and finance, engineering, law, accounting, medicine (3) some balance between their interests and needs of the labor market.
