Availability of HD?
Just recently upgraded to a 50 "plasma TV horsepower, obviously, I've become a major couch potato during the last week. I also improved my DirecTV with HD service. My only complaint is that my local channels not available in high definition. I live in Greenville, SC, and I know that is by no means the largest television market in the nation, but more than 3 million people in the market, nor is the smallest. I'm sure I'm not the only one configured for high-definition services, so my question is how I can know if / when my local channels offer a HD service and can I contact to start putting a little pressure in local networks to accelerate the process of getting started.
I checked DirecTV's website and Google. Shows no direct plans for the future as you probably know. Dish shows they have a plan of Greenville, in the future, but how the future is not indicated. If you can / want to put a good quality antenna (Now called "off-air" antennas) can receive local HD broadcast if your area has moved to HD. Individual Web sites for ABC, etc. I'll tell you. cheaper antennas tend to allow too much for interferrence bleedover digital signal does not have a chance to come through properly. Channel Master Crossfire Mark is a good example of a decent antenna. Not sure who to contact you to accelerate the process. Sorry. Her face and one time with the seasons to get the permit, bandwidth, and all that. We must also bear in mind that the plasma is more power demand and a strong signal if you end up with an external antenna for off the air.
