My estate agent says I have to have EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) made or instructions before 1/10/2008?
European Union have made legislation stating that all property market before entering HIPS should now have an EPC (energy performance certificate) made or instructions before October 1, 2008. We've only been aware of this and are now having to contact all our dealers to inform them of the new legislation. We can arrange for CPE to be done by our own DEA (domestic energy assessor) is this true, even the EU can make retrospective legislation, the deadline is only two weeks away, anyway? It is not retrospective, laws were passed in 2004 to take effect now. I have my doubts about an estate agent who pretends to have been taken by surprise by this. Of course, that "just happen to have" a room in the house evaluator who can do it quickly. . .
