Job dilemma?
I have my own department and an assistant. My company is small (30) employees. There are at least three other departments and they all have managers. I stopped taking this position for an additional $ no because an administrator went to the information. It was fine at first but now I'm doing extra things and getting no help from my boss. I just want to help when you really ask because I assumed the responsibilities of both. I meet the sea and wants to talk about it. I will not ask for a raise and I want to ask a manager, but how I can say that I do more than regular workers? I have to do all marketing ideas for my department, in charge of setting goals and achieving those goals. Please let me know if I'm expecting too much or if I should be slightly bent.
You say you do not want to be a manager, but it sounds like they already are, without the title or compensation. You need to be assertive and document all the extra work do, what their responsibilities were when you took the position and what they are now. Show all new it has assumed. Do not say you feel you need help, tell you feel if you will be in an executive position, then you should receive the same compensation as other managers. They are taking advantage of fact that you are acting in an administrative capacity but not to ask about the benefits that go with that. Good luck
