Is it possible or likely to get a summer internship in the middle of summer?
I want to do a marketing / advertising / public relations / planning summer internship in New York this event you think will take me places just for the 2nd half of summer?
How exciting! I did two internships in NY, each in only six weeks. One was in film production and the other went to a nonprofit. You can find many companies that need interns for shorter periods of time. Only take some research. More companies may have structured a long interview process and competitive and require a whole summer of you for the credit, but the way to avoid this is to seek publicity and public relations firms that are not so great, but only can offer the most experience. My experience was very valuable in practice – and both companies were very small. I have my hands on more projects like that. Do not think that I suffered internships at all for not long summer work in big companies and well known. Instead, I have two internships in the "price" of one and built my resume of life enormously. I recommend it. I recommend researching your favorite creative firms and send your resume and cover letter to hiring managers directly.
