Why education systems in the U.S. do not teach young children?
Research has shown that the human brain loses much of their innate ability to learn new languages during puberty. But most schools in the United States do not offer foreign language study for children through High School (I know there are some who do, and congratulations, even applaud them, but most do not). Travel With the world becoming more common and increasingly global business, I think that we are not equipping our children with the ability to be competitive in the global market. Many times businesses have failed simply because people make decisions not understand the language and culture of people who are trying to sell a. We have all heard of the catastrophe GM trying to sell the Chevy Nova in Latin America.
Because many Americans feel that it is not necessary because English is so popular in the world. If traveling (like me) would realize how much more intelligent people around the world are, as they usually know at least two languages sometimes a young adult knows 4 or 5. Studies have shown if two languages are learned at a young age, it is much easier to learn multiple languages in the future. I am an American born and raised, but after traveling to Europe, I realize that when we do not learn a second language that they are giving all the other countries an advantage over us.
